چکیده
Abstract Background Cancer is one of the leading causes death worldwide. According to GLOBOCAN estimates, there were 341,831 deaths from cervical cancer in 185 countries 2020. The aim this study was compare equieffective dose (EQD 2 ) at Gy per fraction by using volume histograms (DVHs) derived external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) and high-dose rate brachytherapy (HDR-BRT) treatment plans used radiotherapy. Methods Fifteen patients with stage IIB-IIIB included retrospective study. Treatment three-dimensional conformal (3D-CRT) or intensity-modulated (IMRT) planned for all 28 fractions, a total 50.4 be delivered whole pelvic region. After EBRT, manual optimization (MO) inverse (IO) HDR-BRT created 4 fractions Gy. obtained grouped as IMRT + IO, MO, 3DCRT MO calculating EQD s among these plans. D 90 , 95 98 values compared CTV HR . In addition, for critical organs risk (OARs) such rectum, bladder, small intestine, sigmoid volumes cm 3 1 0.1 respectively. Results There no significant difference between groups terms IR values; However, ( p = 0.000) CTVHR D98 were found better IO technique. technique provided protection OARs other techniques. Conclusions Considering parameters sigmoid, combination option significantly superior EQD2 calculations

Caudal epidural anesthesia during intracavitary brachytherapy for cervical cancer
It has been suggested that pain control during intracavitary brachytherapy for cervical cancer is insufficient in most hospitals in Japan. Our hospital began using caudal epidural anesthesia during high-dose-rate (HDR) intracavitary brachytherapy in 2011. The purpose of the present study was to retrospectively investigate the effects of caudal epidural anesthesia during HDR intracavitary brachy...

PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to compare two inverse planning algorithms for cervical cancer brachytherapy and a conventional manual treatment planning according to the MUW (Medical University of Vienna) protocol. MATERIAL AND METHODS For 20 patients, manually optimized, and, inversely optimized treatment plans with Hybrid Inverse treatment Planning and Optimization (HIPO) and with In...
متن کاملMagnetic resonance imaging for planning intracavitary brachytherapy for the treatment of locally advanced cervical cancer.
Cervical cancer is the third most common gynecological cancer. Its treatment depends on tumor staging at the time of diagnosis, and a combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy is the treatment of choice in locally advanced cervical cancers. The combined use of external beam radiotherapy and brachytherapy increases survival in these patients. Brachytherapy enables a larger dose of radiation t...

PURPOSE To perform a comprehensive comparative planning study evaluating the utility of the proposed direction modulated brachytherapy (DMBT) tandem applicator against standard applicators, in the setting of image guided adaptive brachytherapy of cervical cancer. METHODS AND MATERIALS A detailed conceptual article was published in 2014. The proposed DMBT tandem applicator has 6 peripheral gro...
